These days, I have been thinking. Thinking how others seem to able to meet like-minded people with shared interests. Thinking of how ,where and what I should to meet more of these people.
Growing up, I don't have a big problem making friends as much as I have problems fitting into the different 'cliques' or social groups. I'm not part of the geeks ( I obviously don't have the brains to show), the Sporty and the popular. I don't exactly fit in anything in between either.
My saving grace, is perhaps the fact that people warm up to me easily( Read: non-threatening) and for that, I do make friends easily.
You know, there are many kinds of friends , many kinds of friendship. There will always be friendships which you hold dear to my heart and those friends whom I can speak about anything and everything. And also those whom you carry on wherever you have left off. - Note: I don't have many friends who fall under category.
These days, I think about alot of things. About taking my masters ( MBA or masters in Finance), career, marriage and also charity work. It's all qualitative ( ok , i wish!) but not exactly quantative ( read: not constructive).
How do I meet people with similar wavelengths and ambitions? Actually, the more different their perspective, the merrier.
At this stage of my life, I am really looking forward to making my life richer and more meaningful.I want to hear about how people progressed their careers with their masters, which business school they go to and why. Hear from people who strike ( or strive to strike) a balance with the pursuit of materialism ,contributing to society and living a life with meaning.I would like to get to know people who is passionate about they are doing. And those who are commited to less fortunate tirelessly and quietly. People who are brilliant in their own way.
I do enjoy talking about frivolous stuff and gushing over a bag or two. And I know I have a habit of saying that I don't like to use my brains very much. But there's more to Life and I need to learn and grow more as a person.
Spirtually, I haven't fed myself much these days. And I've neglected self growth for quite most of the times. It seems a little more convenient just not to care and vegetate. It feels like a rut but I suspect it isn't.
Don't they all say the awareness of a problem is the beginning of its resolution? ok, maybe not inmy exact grammatically wrong sentence.
But anyhoo, if you ( I seriously don't know who reads my blog now) are one of those people whom i've just mentioned or just someone who shares the exact same thoughts which I have just penned. please let me know.. that I'm not alone.
We could pen pals on something. Or I can friend you on FB.
Just saying:)

To sum up my day
I think I need to give my blog a little more credit.
If you realise, I usually won't have much to say when I'm busy minding my own business. Not that minding our own business is a necessarily a bad/good thing, for that matter.
I evidently have more to say when I'm feeling annoyed, upset or just screwed up in general. Something in my digestive, nervous, physiological and psychological system doesn't quite stomach the emotion ' screwed up'.
To cut the long story short ( I feel guilty leading my reader(s)that I will finally have a decently coherent, happy and well balanced post), I had a bad day today.
'Had' because I am now back in the warm comforts of home ( yay to denial!) and also the support of my loved ones ( double yay to the fiancee!).
Someone at work screwed up. His screw up led to my downfall.
And my downfall must have agitated the magnetic fields floating around me, causing my phone to drop into the toilet bowl. *cue laughter, not*
Yes, the falling of the phone happened in digital film, saturated coloured,slow-mo glory. Too late.
I can only say that I have a courageous phone. And my phone has a screwed up, less courageous but hopefully still lovable owner.
By the way, if you happen to be in raffles place this morning/noon and felt tremors quaking through the grounds, rest assure that it was only me jumping in frustration and jabbing at my warrior of a phone. Doing this beside a huge Christmas tree does not make it a wee bit more glamourous than it sounds.
To sum up my day,
SHIT X20
WTF X 200
F*CK YOU X 2000
FUCK,FUCK FUCK X 20000
Do the maths.
And yes, this is copyright-ed.
By the way, I'm not that vulgar on a daily basis. And yes, I shouldn't swear so much today because you know, I don't really want to f*ck anyone anyway.

Just feeling a little blue tonight
So, it's been a wee bit more than two months since I've last updated this little space of mine.
This is, unfortunately, the amount of time since the last time I've reflected on my thoughts, my desires and just life in general.
It's been a whirlwind of two months. I've turned 27, got engaged with the dearest man, gone on a holiday to two great cities which I've never been before and then some. Not necessarily in that order though.
I feel empty. I feel like there is a huge, fun and crazy party out there and I am the only one on the universe missing out all the fun and yes, the craziness. Are you feeling this too?
By the way, I don't mean this literally. I'm too old for party-parties.
I'm afraid of growing old - not so much the physical aspect of it ( tell me that when I've droopy breasts and sagging eye bags. But then, there is botox.)but the benchmarks and expectations which envitably come with it.
Time is a funny, sneaky little thing.
I feel like Time has come and pasted this silly, white ( don't ask me why) sticker on my forehead which says, " Old. Needs to get married and have kids." or/maybe another sticker at the back of my head ,not unlike a school report card, that goes," Average kid. Needs to try harder.. but a wee bit too late."
Something like that.
Make no mistake, I've no qualms about getting married and having kids. I just don't like how everyone assumes that's the path you should go when you have stable and healthy romantic relationship with a person you love dearly.
I believe there is always time ( that sneaky fellow again) and day for everything. There are things I want to do, I want to accomplish before I walk down the aisle to the next stage of my life.
I used to sneer at people who claimed that getting married is just about getting a piece of paper ( yes too much tv dramas) but not so much now. As you realise, I will be engaged for some time to come.
Life is not like a simple maths sum ( more like algebra and calculas which I never gotten the hang of it). We can never follow the same formula to get the right answer.
Everyone is different but not everyone understands this. So, don't give me the prep talk if you don't know what I'm talking about.
I'm thinking of taking my masters though I haven't decided on whether to take a specialised postgraduate degree or an MBA. There are many reasons why I want to take an MBA but that will be for another day. It will be a huge investment of money and time but I've this feeling it will be worth it.
I just want to keep growing and learning and hopefully accomplishing something great for myself. Perhaps, this is precisely why I feel this emptiness.
As profound and idealistic it may sound, I want to walk down the aisle whole.
Whole. Happy. Confident.
You know, whenever I say I will do something (especially on this blog), I will do thing. Well, it may take a little longer for the inertia to subside but I will get there. ( Hello Macdonald's party, Hello quiting-without-a-job).
I am not coherent. I can be withdrawn and silly at times.
That doesn't mean I don't think and I have no mind of my own.
Pardon my incoherence. There are stuff I need to get out my system and cure myself of this mental and emotional constipation.
